Kalea Sport & Entertainment has signed a television rights management agreement with Bilibli Group. The alliance between the two companies began in September 2021, when the Chinese online video platform began broadcasting all the acb competitions. Now, Bilibili Group and the consultancy Kalea Sport & Entertainment are taking another step in their professional relationship and from this moment on, the Kalea Group company will be in charge of offering and providing Spanish and European content to Bilibili.

“We appreciate Bilibili’s trust in us to lead this sports competition broadcasting project, and it is a honor for us that the acb has been the first to get on board. We understood that the second best league in the world should have its presence and space in China. With this great letter of introduction that the acb represents, we will now continue working with Bilibili to offer interesting content for the Chinese public”, declares Fran González, CEO of Kalea Group and Kalea Sport & Entertainment, the company that will manage television rights for Bilibili.

Barça players, Pierre Oriola and Sergi Martínez, congratulate the Chinese New Year in a video on the acb channel in Bilibili.

Bilibili, an unstoppable platform in China

Bilibili is a streaming platform similar to YouTube that has more than 200 million active users per month in China. It is the favorite platform of young people in the country: 86% of its users are under 35 years old. And every day it attracts 1.2 billion visits.

The app has a varied catalog of topics for its users: from anime to e-sports, through technology, style or live sports broadcasts such as acb games. The official channel of the Spanish basketball league in Bilibili offers all its competitions -more than 330 games between Super Cup, Endesa League, Copa del Rey-, in addition to the Mini Cup games.

Recently, Bilibili has acquired the broadcasting rights for the FA Cup. The acquisition of one of the great competitions in English football proves once again its interest in European sport.

After acquiring the broadcasting rights of the acb, Bilibili has bought the FA Cup of English football.

After the agreement with Kalea Sport & Entertainment, Bilibili will expand its content offer, not only sports, of Spanish and European origin.

“The intention of both Bilibili and Kalea Sport & Entertainment is to grow this collaboration, and for this reason, we are already working on other content for both sports and entertainment broadcasts that fit Bilibili and its audience”, concludes Fran González.
