Kalea Ecofriendly <\/a>has a strong commitment to society, so we travel to Kenya with ADCAM<\/a>, or deliver toys at Christmas to Caritas Madrid<\/a>. And we will also continue to collaborate with NGOs<\/a> as long as it is in our hands. In this post we tell you how was the first healthy cooking workshop of Kalea Ecofriendly for women at risk of exclusion that we celebrate in Elche.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carolina Moran, Business Director of Kalea Group<\/a>,<\/strong> together with Rosa Escandell, founder of the Spanish Women’s Reintegration Program<\/a>, Apuntadas<\/a>, Malas Meninas<\/a>, and ADCAM<\/a>,<\/strong> organized a day of cooking and healthy nutrition for women at risk of social exclusion who participate in these associations. Carolina Mor\u00e1n is an expert chef<\/a> and wanted to contribute her knowledge to the daily lives of these women. She explained that eating healthy doesn’t have to be expensive. Foods such as fish or meat are not essential in our diet and can be replaced by other foods as nutritious and economical as legumes.<\/strong> Our Business Director gave an extensive workshop with tips on healthy and nutritious food; dismantling culinary myths and helping attendees to make affordable, rich, healthy and nutritious menus.<\/p>\n

Collaborate with money, time and\/or knowledge<\/h3>\n

There are many ways to collaborate with these associations, and at Kalea Group we believe that, in addition to financial contributions, it is also important to offer time and knowledge.<\/strong> People who suffer economic, social or structural complications often feel invisible in society. They may receive financial contributions, which will help their well-being. But they miss direct contact, being treated as equals. Likewise, sometimes they feel the lack the education that they do want to receive, but which they have not been able to access due to different circumstances. A conference on cooking like the one offered by our colleague also serves to disconnect and have fun for a few hours.<\/p>\n

Meeting with the Maasai leader<\/h3>\n

The Kalea Ecofriendly healthy cooking workshop for women at risk of exclusion coincided with the annual visit to Spain of William Kikanae Ole Pere, Maasai chief and director of ADCAM.<\/strong> A few weeks after meeting in Kenya, we met again with our CEO Fran Gonz\u00e1lez<\/a>. A meeting that they took advantage of to talk about future collaborations together.<\/p>\n
